Why Manchester United are now a better team than Fergie's treble winners
The 1999 squad has enjoyed legendary status at Old Trafford but Sir Alex Ferguson reckons he's never had as good a team as he has now. And this Sportingo writer agrees.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson told MUTV that the current team is the best he has ever had.
It is interesting to compare the 1999 team with the current one. The “impossible dream”, otherwise known as the treble, had never been achieved before Manchester United did it.
When United won the Champions League, they played a club from Munich, perhaps an omen after the 1958 Munich air disaster. The date, May 26, was also the birthday of the legendary Sir Matt Busby. It took Busby 10 years after the crash for Manchester United to win the then European Cup.
United won the Premiership in the 1998-9 season by beating Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 and won the FA Cup by beating Newcastle 2-0.

The current squad is the best. Good luck ManU and trust that you will win the League and UEFA cups

Not being cheeky mate but dont refer to United as 'ManU'. Leeds fans first used it in a song about the Munich crash

how very typical of a man unitd fan to be telling people to stop refering to them as manu because of a refferance to the munich disaster in a song. all this after the scumbags tried selling their munich memorial scarves on e-bay. get your own house in order before you start barking ot your orders.

"only Peter Schmeichel"?? Only arguably the best keeper ever??
by Rob Mason on May 09, 2008
I'm pretty sure he is stating that they ONLY had the great Peter Schmeichel, as in not as much quality back-up as we have now, because like he said before in the article, we have 3 quality keepers to choose from at the moment. But I must admit I did read it in the same way as you did when I first read this.
