When the chips are down, up steps Graeme Smith to tuck into a run feast
The South African skipper is on the portly side but that hasn't stopped him amassing a healthy Test average. Proteas' fans will be hoping he makes a meal of England this summer.

It's ironic that the two 'fatties' of cricket Shane Warne and Graeme Smith are in the same IPL team, the Roly-Poly Royals, (I wonder if they're sponsored by Burger King?) 'It's ironic that the two 'fatties' of cricket, Shane Warne and Graeme Smith, are in the same IPL team, the Roly-Poly Royals' Smith's cricketing girth is what is more important as he is probably the major beneficiary of exposure within this equation and I wonder if it could be telling when he 'snacks' on the English this season en route to the cherry on the cake, the Australian Pavlovas. The breadcrumbs left for Smith by Warney will be pearls of wisdom and the 27-year-old South African I'm sure is literally a sponge cake soaking in the marinade of the matured cordon bleu chef of spin. The young captain must take every advantage of this type of environment to expand his horizons and putting his ego in his pocket I'm sure has taken some doing. But judging by his tight- lipped show thus far he's doing exactly as he has been told (look, listen and learn!)

Ok so you're into metaphors Greg Smith. But are you really extracting the urine? The use of the nickname Greg Smith first coined during the 2003 series suggests that you are. You simply can't be that in love with Smith. Nobody else in world cricket is too enamoured of him. Or are you his secret lover? Anyway Greg, is he really smart enough to take Warne's tactical advice on board? Rumour has it that he's intellectually challenged? I doubt he'll be a sponge absorbing, more like a collander leaking. What do you really think Greg? Are you taking the mickey out of him on a full-time basis?

Funny how when you dislike somebody, you lose touch with reality. Nobody argues (Not even South Africans) that Smith started off a big mouth, non performing youngster. However, he has grown and matured and has turned into a good cricketer and captain. This view has been echoed by many ex players and commentators. SA's results also reflect this. Exposure to the brilliant cricketing brain of Warne will benifit Smith. Just bevause you don't like somebody, does not mean you cannot give them the credit they deserve.
